Birnie Mangrum

FT. OGLETHORPE - Birnie Clyma Mangrum, 84, passed went to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, April 9, 2021. A native of Morris, Oklahoma, he has lived in the Ft. Oglethorpe area for the past 1 ½ years and attended Rockbridge Church in Ringgold. Birnie was a former employee of Mid-America Concrete, a finishing carpenter and a lifelong farmer in Oklahoma. Birnie was a cowboy at heart and loved his horses and cattle. He was a teacher of the word of God and anyone who knew Birnie loved him and he loved them. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Kathern Groover Mangrum; parents, Bernie Robert and Lena Clyma Mangrum; and three sisters, Norma Dean (Paul) Vincent, Roena Woodard and Linda Sue Wasson. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Darlene Goines Mangrum, six children, Kimberly Mangrum (Dan) Anderson of Okmulgee, OK., Debbie Mangrum (David) Williams of Peggs, OK., Tom (Lisa) Carter of Ringgold, GA., April Carter (Mike) Pulley of Sapulpa, OK., Robert (Stephanie) Carter of Modesto, CA., and Tenderly Carter of Sapulpa, OK.; sister, Iris Mangrum (Clark) Quales of Morris, OK.; two brothers-in-law, Harold Woodard of Texas, and Joe Mac Wasson of Oklahoma City, OK.; fifteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. April 16, 2021 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Andrew Plisko officiating. The family will receive friends 12-2 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
