Richard Kilgore

Richard Edward Kilgore “Buddy”, 71 of Soddy Daisy, TN, lost his battle with cancer Sunday, August 22, 2021 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born in Whitwell, TN. He was the son of Richard and Agnes Kilgore. He retired from Ryerson Steel as a multi head torch operator.

Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, races, camping, gardening and playing with his great grandkids. He will be remembered for his funny jokes and great stories.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Agnes Kilgore and great granddaughter, Everly Sanders.

Those left behind to cherish his memories are his wife of 52 years, Patricia Kilgore; sister, Phyllis Jones; brother, Danny Kilgore; sons, Wade (Machon) Kilgore and Randy Kilgore; daughter, Christy (Gary) Heaton; grandsons, Joshua Kilgore, Jacob Kilgore, Gary (Mallorie) Heaton, Austin (Lori) Heaton, Caleb Heaton and Matthew Bowman; granddaughters, Brittany (Kevin) Jordan, April (Eric) Palmer, Amanda (Garrett) Sanders and Cindy Heaton; thirteen great grandkids, several nieces and nephews, other family members and a lot of great friends.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga for the care they provided.

Visitation is Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with Mike Colmbs presiding. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
