Martha Fontenay

Martha Howard Fontenay, 84, of Apison passed away December 1, 2021 in a local healthcare center.

A longtime resident of Hamilton County, Ms. Fontenay was a graduate of Ooltewah High School, Berry College, the University of Chattanooga and received her Master’s from UTK.

She ad worked in Social Services at Nashville State Hospital and retired from Moccasin Bend Hospital.

She is in Who’s Who’s American Women and was previously active in the Democratic Woman’s Affairs and the Metropolitan Planning Commission in Nashville, TN. She attended St. Ann’s Episcopal Church.

Survivors are her children, Margarethe Ingram, Apison, and Blake (Lynn) Fontenay, FL; 2 grandchildren, Elizabeth and Emily Ingram.

Graveside service will be held Monday, December 6th at 10 am at Plowman Cemetery.
