Ms. Thelma Parks Jackson, 93, passed away on February 16, 2021, in Chattanooga. Born in Greenville, Georgia, she was educated by the Meriwether County School District.
Thelma retired from Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute after 20 years of distinguished service.
She was a longtime member of New Monumental Baptist Church and an active member of the Verbena Club, Nurses Guild, Deaconess Board, and Usher Board. Ms. Jackson was also a great baker and an avid watcher of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
Those left to cherish her memories, sons, Hubert Jackson, Jr., Chattanooga, Tennessee, Jerome (Ursula) Jackson, Tacoma, Washington; daughter, Doris (Ken) Amos, College Park, Georgia; four siblings, Wade Parks, Chicago, Illinois, Elmira Alford, Greenville, Georgia, Clifford Parks, College Park, Georgia, and Juanita Simmons, Chicago, Illinois.
Public viewing will be held 8:30 AM-12:30 PM, Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at the funeral home. A private funeral service will be held. Interment: Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
