Dan Shirley St.Clair, born May 13, 1929, died January 7, 2021. He was a resident of Chattanooga and North Georgia his entire life and was a member of Duncan Park Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his wife, Bettye Holdam St.Clair; son, James (Jimmy) St.Clair; son, Daniel (Danny) St.Clair, parents, Marvin St.Clair and Addie Sue Glasscock St.Clair; brothers, Marvin St.Clair Jr. and David St.Clair. Survivors include daughter Nancy (Steve) Dragoo; grandchildren, Jason (Rachael) Dragoo, Joshua Dragoo, Stephanie (Joshua) Jackson; and great-grandchildren Ava Dragoo, Paul Dragoo, Peter Dragoo, Titus Dragoo, and Jonas Jackson, all of the Nashville, TN area. Dan was a 1947 graduate of Chattanooga's Central High School and attended UC (UTC). He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was retired after 40+ years with the Dupont Company. Dan's life passion was for, as he said, "the lonely, misunderstood, and mistreated" for whom he prayed daily. This was evidenced in his work with prisoners, those with addictions, and their families. For many years he served as a facilitator with his wife for Beyond the Bars. Together they also founded and facilitated the Families Anonymous Support Group in Chattanooga. A private family memorial will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
