James Lazenby (Nick) Nicholson 86, died on December 20, 2020. He lived the first ten years of his life in Montgomery, Alabama before the family moved to Oak Ridge, Tennessee in 1944. He is survived by a brother, Robert Nicholson of Sevierville, Tennessee, a number of cousins, and numerous friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Eloise L. and James H. Nicholson and a brother, William “Randy” Nicholson. He was a longtime member of First Centenary United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Baker Newman Murdoch Sunday School Class for over 45 years. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and was a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. After a short stint in the army, he worked briefly at Combustion Engineering. He was then employed by the Tennessee Valley Authority for 34 years. In earlier years, he was active member of the Chattanooga Jaycees, and was involved in numerous other civic activities. He was a member of the downtown Kiwanis Club and a longtime member of the downtown YMCA and was an avid Vol football fan. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery at Forest Home, Alabama on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 1:00pm.
