Ruth Ferry Carnes,94, of Chattanooga, was united with Christ and her loved ones in heaven on January 10, 2021. She fought the good fight. She finished the race. She kept her faith.

She was born January 8, 1927 in Birmingham, Alabama to Roy Allison Ferry and Vacie Emma Ferry.

She lived in Red Bank her entire life, attended Red Bank High school and was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church for more than 70 years. As long as she was able, she met weekly with the ladies quilting group for fellowship and quilt making.

She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Otis Carnes Jr. and her daughter Brenda Carnes Kell.

She is survived by her daughter, Wilma (David) Gore of Smyrna, TN; son, LeBron Carnes of Tunnel Hill, GA; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

A Graveside service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the top pavilion of Chattanooga Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Hamilton Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons; Josh Carnes, Caleb Carnes, Darren Gore, Mark Gore, Tanner Gore and Luke Bailey.
