Elli Hargis

Elli Hargis, 83, of Soddy-Daisy, went home to be with the Lord on January 10, 2021.

Elli was preceded in death by her parents, Jakob and Susann Rohmann of Offenthal, Germany, where Elli was born and raised. Elli was also preceded in death by her brothers, Albert (Irene) Rohmann and Walter (Emmi) Rohmann all of Offenthal, Germany; Sister, Martha (Bill) Honan of Rochester, NY.

Elli is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bobby R. Hargis of Soddy-Daisy; her son, Marvin (Vickie) Hargis of Sale Creek, TN; Daughters, Middie (Larry) Gandy and Susie (Jerry) Roberts of Soddy Daisy, TN. Seven grandchildren, Amanda (Patrick) Finlay, Justin (Stacy) Hargis, Dustin (Karen) Gandy, Josh (Cristi) Roberts, Tyler (Megan) Gandy, Jared (Lauren) Roberts, Clay Hargis. Great grandchildren, Gracie Gandy, Lila Gandy, Maggie Gandy, Makayla Gandy, Tinley Gandy, Bella Roberts, Claire Roberts, Mason Finlay, Christopher Hargis, Jasmine Hargis and Abby Hargis. Numerous nieces and nephews, and special niece, Ursula (Danny) Carter, Farmington, NY.

She retired from JC Penney, Northgate Mall, as a 20-year employee. She cherished her family and enjoyed spending time with them as much as possible. She loved to talk about her grandchildren and great grandchildren at any opportunity. She also enjoyed traveling and seeing new places. Elli was a member of the Soddy Church of Christ.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care received from Hospice of Chattanooga, Dayton Office, and Care Giver, Kim Walker and staff (Kristie and Melanie).

Visitation will be held Monday, January 18 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Soddy Church of Christ. The service will begin at 1 p.m. with Minister Joel Danley officiating following visitation. Interment will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens following the service. We respectfully request that all current mandates set forth by the CDC and the Hamilton County Health Department be adhered to. This includes social distance and wearing masks at all times.
