Ruben Oliver

Ruben Eugene Oliver passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at the age of 83.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Alf and Alene and his daughter Lesia. He is survived by his wife Nancy; children Beth and Lyn; grandchildren Cody, Zach, Kayce, and Justin.

Eugene graduated with the Grundy County High School class of 1957; and was a co-captain of Tennessee Tech 1957-1960 football championship team, and was inducted in 2017 into the Grundy County Sports Hall of Fame. He enjoyed years of fishing and hunting after retirement from Tennessee Valley Authority. He was a member of the Stuart’s Heights Baptist Church.

Eugene will be honored in a memorial service officiated by Darryl Davenport on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Stuart Heights Baptist Church Chattanooga campus. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. EST, followed with a service at 11:00 a.m. The burial service will follow at Plainview Cemetery in Tracy City, TN at 1:00 p.m. CST.
