Laverne Emmett

Laverne S. Emmett, 85 passed away on Thursday July 22, 2021. All of her children were at her bedside at the time of her passing.

She truly enjoyed working in her yard, and feeding the deer and raccoons at her home in Apsion, traveling with family and friends, and spending time with her 3 grandchildren.

Laverne was born on Jan. 5, 1936, and was preceded in death by her husband; William Rush Emmett, her parents; George Arlen Stafford, and Tinnie Adaline Smith, her brothers; Ralph

(P.D.) Stafford, and Alvin A. (Buck) Stafford; and sisters; Cathrine Prayter, Ruby Saieck, and Elvirta Nave.

She is survived by her sons; Kenneth, (Joyce) Emmett, and Greg (Tawnia) Emmett, and her daughter, Dana Emmett, grandson; Tyler, granddaughters; Madison and Jessica, her brother; Joseph (Tip) Stafford, sister; Viola (Lawrence) Evans, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held from the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, at 11 a.m. EDT, on Tuesday July 27, 2021, with Pastor Perry McAllister officiating. Interment will follow in

Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday evening, July 26, 2021 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be, Kenneth Emmett, Greg Emmett, Tyler Emmett, Ronnie Dyer, Joseph (Tip) Stafford, and Rodger Stafford.

Special thanks to the staff of the Bridge of Ooltewah and the staff of Hearth Hospice of

Chattanooga.

“Losing a Mother is a pain that cannot be described in words. It is virtually impossible to move

on from the memory of losing a woman who sacrificed so much for others.” (the 21st Psalm)

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or

Hearth Hospice of Chattanooga.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
