Peggy Brown

Peggy Callahan Brown, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 12th, 2021 in a local hospital.

Peggy was born and raised in the Chattanooga area and graduated in the 1953 class of Kirkman High School. She was a member of the Wauhatchie United Methodist Church and a past Worthy Matron and current member of the Eastern Star. Peggy worked as a CNA for over 25 years at Parkridge Medical Center and Hutcheson Medical Center. She loved to go fishing, travel to Florida, and spend time with her grandchildren. Peggy was “the best woman you’d ever meet” and she adored her family. She is greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, J.L. Brown; parents, Oscar and Lucile Jeffress; sister, Barbara Page; and brother, David Jeffress.

Survivors include her sons: Danny (Karen) Brown, Scott Brown, and Tony Brown; grandchildren: Jason, Brandon, Destiny, J.B., Devan, Haley, and Ty; eight great grandchildren; brother, Terry (Shirley) Jeffress; sister, Susan Dame; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 15th, 2021 at 2pm in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Tommy Messer officiating. Interment will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers: Chandler Goff, Chad McNabb, Jeremy Thacker, Andrew Dame, Bailey Mason, and Craig Pantages.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11am until the service hour in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, Rossville.
