Phyllis Potter

Phyllis Nell Potter, of Harrison, passed away February 27, 2021.

A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, she was a 1951 graduate of Central High School and shortly thereafter went to work for Olan Mills where she was instrumental in organizing the Credit Union.

After retiring from Olan Mills she remained as CEO of the Credit Union until the company closed. Phyllis spent 60 years affiliated with the Olan Mills Company.

She enjoyed playing sports and played both basketball and softball with the Olan Mills Teams. She participated in the Senior Olympics bringing home many medals in softball, horseshoes, shot put, discus and javelin throws.

Phyllis was a member of St. John Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Franklin Potter and Annabel Howard Potter and her siblings, Mary Ann Potter and James Maurice Potter.

She is survived by her nephew, Jay Potter; niece, Valerie Hulgan, both of Tullahoma, TN; and devoted friend, Brenda Phelps, Harrison.

A graveside service will be held Friday, March 5th at 2 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Rev. Carl Blackburn officiating.
