Katy moved to America in 1960 to Chattanooga, TN, where she and Chuck started their family. She began work at Olan Mills as a manager in 1960 and worked there for 12 years. Katy was proud to become an American citizen in 1967. In 1970, Katy was saved, becoming a Christian at Temple Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until passing. In 1972, Katy began working for U.S. Pipe where she served as an accounting clerk for 22 years until she retired in 1994. Some of her hobbies included: cooking, sewing, and gardening.

The most important thing in her life was her family and her faith in Jesus Christ. She excelled at being a loving wife and mother. Katy was a servant to others and deeply touched every person who crossed her path. She spent her life always giving to others. She will be greatly missed by her family, both here and in Japan. She will always live in our hearts and memories.
