CHICKAMAUGA - Joseph Eugene Brown Jr., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 9, 2021. Born on November 20, 1962 “Joey” brightened the lives of his parents, Joseph Eugene Brown, Sr. and Betty Conner Brown. Joey was married to the love of his life, Myra Coffee Brown, for 36 years and treasured his two daughters, Laura Lee Brown and Julia Mae Brown, as well as his sister and brother-in-law, Maria Brown Key and Dan Key. Joey’s large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins always looked forward to spending time with him. Wherever Joey was, the fun and fireworks were sure to follow. He was truly a bright light in the lives of everyone that had the privilege of knowing him.

Joey was the proud owner of the Brown Fence Company of Chattanooga, which has been in the Brown family for over 100 years. In Joey’s honor, his family will continue operating the business. Joey was a member of the 1982 Graduating Class of Gordon Lee High School and was always very active in his community. He continued to live on the Chickamauga farm where he was raised – dancing on the porch at sunset, fishing with his girls, walking his dog Rambo, arriving home in his latest vehicle and laughing with a sparkle in his eye. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved to travel out west with his friends. To say Joey lived life to the fullest would be an understatement.

Myra, Laura and Julia Brown ask that we all continue to live like Joey Brown by giving the best of ourselves to others and loving with all our hearts. A celebration of Joey’s life will be held on

later date, and there may be some fireworks that light the night sky.
