Doreen Scott

Doreen Catherine Weis Scott at the age of 78 went to be with the Lord on May 7, 2021 in Ooltewah TN. She grew up in a small farming town, Remus Michigan. She graduated from Ferris State College with a BS Degree, it is where she met her future husband of 55 years. She was a loving wife, mother & grandmother. Her other life experiences included being a teacher, secretary,& Administrative Assistant for the Presbyterian Synod of Living Waters in Brentwood TN before retirement. She is preceded in death by her father Gerald Weis, her mother Mildred (Able) Weis of Big Rapids MI.

Survivors include her husband, Edwin D. Scott, her daughter Christine (John) Wyman of Lake Worth FL; sons Brian (Rachel) Scott of Ooltewah TN; Andrew (Sonya) Scott, of Chattanooga TN; brother Gerald (Linnea) Weis of Big Rapids MI; sisters Beth Waiess of Lansing MI; Laura (Mark) Viel of Big Rapids MI. Doreen leaves behind eight grandchildren; Sarah (Simeon) Hinchman of Chattanooga TN; Hannah & Elizabeth Scott of Ooltewah TN; Natalee & Lydia Scott of Chattanooga TN; Tyler, Addison, & Danyelle Wyman of Lake Worth FL.

Doreen had many God-given talents. She was an avid reader, gardener, seamstress, card maker and cook. She also loved serving her family, church and friends. After moving to Chattanooga 6 years ago, Doreen was an active member at Grace Baptist Church, where she volunteered in the ESL program & was involved in women’s ministry.

There will be a graveside service for family & friends at Tyner Cemetery, located at 2934 Hickory Valley Rd, Chattanooga TN on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11:00am. There will not be any visitation prior to the service.
