Reita Walker

CLEVELAND - Retia Speer Walker, age 66 departed this life on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Tennova Healthcare in Cleveland. Born on August 2, 1955 in Miami, Florida to the late O.D. and Christine Overton Carter, she lived in Bradley County for the majority of her life and attended Living Word Church. She was most recently employed at the Healthcare of Standifer Place where she retired after over 30 years of service as a nurse. She enjoyed planting flowers and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Ronald Speer and Tinsley Walker; and a brother, Teddy Walker.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Johnny Speer(Marsha), Don Speer(Stephanie), and James Speer(Meaghan); grandchildren, Emily Abernathy, Starla Speer, Joshua Speer, Johntravis Speer, Bryson Speer; Preslie Speer, Ell Speer, and Ezra Speer; sisters, Anita Benford, and Freda Salter; brothers, Thomas Freeman, Billy Carter, and Alan Carter; stepchildren, Landon Walker(Holly), Tinsley Holland, Kelly Walker and their children; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and a host of friends.

A Celebration of Life and Home going for Retia Nell Carter Speer Walker will be held at 4p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Living Word Church.

The family will receive friends from 2p.m. until the funeral hour at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials be considered to the American Cancer Society.
