Gladys Belk
CLEVELAND — Gladys Belk, 76, departed this life on Thursday, September 16, 2021
at Tennova Healthcare. Born on March 5, 1945 to the late Hubert and Ola Lee Beaty Davis, she was a native and lifelong resident of Bradley County and was a member of Grace Community Church. She was previously employed at Bels in
Hamilton Place in the cosmetic department for over 20 years; loved helping others
through the Bread Ministry and was a caregiver to her sister. She most of all enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandkids and great
grandkids.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Belk
Sr.; brothers, Harold Davis and Donald Davis.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, John Belk, Jr.(Beverly) and
Sherry Fowler; grandchildren, Brandon Belk, David Sheffey(Robyn), Alisa
Buckner(Ziek), Holley Burnette(Dylan) Lindsay Bentley(Alex) and Matthew
Carpenter; great-grandchildren, Keira, Hailey, Skye, River, Leoric, Maggie, Caleb and Logan; sister, Virginia Ballinger; and brother Dennis Davis; sisters-in-law,
Joyce Davis and Ruth Davis ; mother-in-law, as well as several nieces, nephews,
extended family and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Gladys Sue Davis Belk will be held at
7 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Grace Community Church with Pastor
Kevin Mendell officiating. Family and friends will gather from 6:30 p.m. until the time of service at the church
on Thursday.
