Robert Childers

KNOXVILLE — Robert Marshall Childers, 83, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, in a local health care facility.

Marshall was born and raised in Atlanta, GA and graduated from Milton High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Castleberg Germany where he was assigned to the Army Signal Corps. Upon his

discharge from the Army he joined the Atlanta Police department and was

promoted to Detective during his fifteen year career with the department.

Marshall went on to own and run Childers Meat and Poultry Market and C&H

Meats in Atlanta, GA. He enjoyed being with his family, fishing, and muscle cars.

Marshall was preceded in death by his father, Russell Guy Childers; mother,

Eunice Pollard; and granddaughter, Keli Childers.

Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Sandra Childers; children: Mike (Lori)

Children, Linda (Glen) Tedford, and Stephen (Stacy) Childers; sisters: Sandra

Hardeman and Melba (Billy) Eidson; grandchildren: Gina Childers, Holly (David) Winchell, Kimberly (Hunter) Jones, Amy (Joe) Kirkendall, and William Childers;

six great grandchildren; and niece.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at 12 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. David Hammontree, Jr. officiating. Interment

will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
