Wilma Jeanette (Andrews) Lambert passed away Jan. 12, 2022. She was 85 years old. Jeanette lived each stage of her life to the fullest from childhood, through young adulthood with her husband, Sam, of 67 years, to raising their three children, to becoming a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Jeanette was a pleasure to all who knew her. She was a devoted, compassionate, and fun-filled wife, mother, and friend. She was raised in Lookout Valley where she lived until marrying. Jeanette was a graduate of Central High School in Chattanooga where she played basketball and passed on her love for basketball to her children and grandchildren. She never missed a sporting event or other activity of her children and grandchildren.

After marrying, she and Sam lived several places with TVA before settling in Jasper, Tenn. where they raised their children. While living in Gallatin, Tenn. Jeanette enjoyed working as a telephone operator in Nashville. Her grandchildren always enjoyed her rendition of “number please” when speaking of her time there. After settling in Jasper and her children entering school, Jeanette worked for South Pittsburg Hospital and Jasper Tri-City Clinic where she made friends that remained throughout her lifetime. Her lifetime hobby was sewing. She loved making one of a kind clothing for her children and decorating her home and the homes of her children. Jeanette was an active member of First Baptist Church in Jasper throughout her adult life singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, working in VBS, and treasurer for her beloved Sunday School class, the Gleaners. Jeanette was full of adventure and never turned down an opportunity for a trip, whether it was a vacation or a day trip shopping. She was the best Nana ever.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Baxter Coleman (B.C.) and Ruth Andrews of Lookout Valley; and brother Wayne Andrews of Lookout Valley.

Jeanette is survived by her husband of 67 years Samuel Lambert; children Steve (Phyllis) Lambert of New Hope, Sandra (Jim) Cooper of Jasper, and Becky (Warren) Bigelow of South Pittsburg; grandchildren Ryan Lambert, Sam Cooper, Wes Cooper, Cole Sanders, and Kelsi Sanders Rorex; one great-granddaughter Mackenzie Lambert and several nieces and nephews.
