Eunice Cleo Wiseman Rayburn, 92, of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully on Jan. 13, 2022.

Eunice was born the daughter of the late James D. and Belle Stone Wiseman on Jan. 24, 1929. Eunice was raised in McMinnville, Tenn. and was valedictorian of the 1945-1946 senior class of Irving College High School where she was president of the senior class, business manager of the annual, named as the best all-around student, and captain of the basketball team. She moved to Chattanooga after graduation and worked for Dixie Yarns before being hired by Yellow Freight Trucking System until retirement. She was a faithful member of the Rossville Church of Christ, and her passion was sewing hand-made quilts together with her lady friends at church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Rayburn; her parents, James and Belle Wiseman; and two sisters, Lillian (Alfred) Porter and Beatrice (James) Shirley.

She leaves behind her brother, JB Wiseman; nieces Brenda Ingle, Darlene Pittman, Kim (Jeff) Keylon, Karen (George) Lancaster, Gay (Larry) Johnson; and one nephew, Garry (Connie) Thurman; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

The family will have a private graveside service at Chattanooga Memorial Gardens in Red Bank, Tenn., officiated by Minister Jack James.
