Sondra Bartlett

CHICKAMAUGA - Sondra Charlotte Bartlett, age 69, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister passed away at her residence Saturday, January 22, 2022.

She was born December 15, 1952, in Chattanooga, TN, to the late Thomas Burl Cross and Olen Ernestine Galyon Cross. She graduated from Gordon Lee High School in 1970. She married the love of her life, Howard Bartlett on February 19, 1972. She was employed by Walker County Schools and LaFayette First Baptist Church as well as being a mother to her children John, Meredith, and Phillip. She was a member of Gordon Lake Wesleyan Church where, for several years, she led worship and taught Sunday school. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Cross; and brother-in-law, Richard Ballard.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, John Howard Bartlett; son and daughter-in-law, John and Amanda Bartlett; daughter, Meredith Bartlett; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Jessica Bartlett; grandchildren, Carolina, Keegan, and Ava Bartlett; brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Bobby Cross, Olen and Theresa Cross, and Danny and Brenda Cross; and sister-in-law, Lynda Ballard. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ashley Mew officiating.

Interment at LaFayette Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
