Roberta Thomas

Roberta Mae Chesnut Thomas passed away at home on January 16, 2022. Born February 21, 1935 in Lincoln, NE, Roberta was a 1957 graduate of Geneva College where she earned a degree in elementary education. She was sweet but feisty with a quick wit and a love for literature and classic movies. She was passionate about the Lord with an unwavering faith that carried her through many difficult times.

Her greatest joy in life was being a wife to her best friend and husband of 60 years, Wayne Thomas (d. 2017), and mother to their three daughters, Diane Gordon Perriguey (Dan), Donna Austin, and Barbara Armstrong (Bobby), all of whom survive her. She is also survived by her brother, brother-in-law and 9 grandchildren. She is predeceased by two sisters and two brothers.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 3pm on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church, 554 McCallie Ave. Flowers will be donated to FPC’s flower ministry following the service.
