Our loving and vibrant mother, Nina Owens Jackson Rinck passed away peacefully of natural causes, holding the hand of her dear friend and caregiver Robin Pruitt on July 8, 2022. A special thank you to Brenda and Natalie at Avalon Hospice.

Nina was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 15, 1937 to parents Elmer Owens and Frances Dauter Owens. She is preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, and grandson Brent Jackson.

After graduating from Central High School in 1955 she went on to attended UTC and the Ringling School of Art and Design. A mother of four, Sherrye Jackson Hampton (Robin), Bud Jackson (Andria), Bryant Jackson (Carey) and Candis Britton she pursued many interests. Her 7 grand -children and 5 great-grand -children called her Ninnie. As a Jehovah’s Witness, her friends called her Sister.

In high school Nina was an-award- winning poet, ballerina and majorette. Her art skills were apparent in many projects. She competed in archery and rode a Tennessee Walking horse. Nina started her career at Folwer Brothers, then continued at Richard Folwer’s in Chattanooga. She had design positions at Robb & Stucky in both Sarasota and Las Vegas. Her design work was published in a national magazine as she was life time member of the American Society of Interior Design. As a realtor, Nina sold and decorated several homes at Heritage Landing.

A memorial will be held on August 7, 2022 at 4 PM, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 7341 Middle Valley Road, Hixson, TN 37343. Zoom link provided upon request at ninarinck@comcast.net
