Austin Poythress

On Wednesday June 15, 2022, Austin Jacob Poythress, beloved son, brother, nephew and father, died at age 35.

Austin was born on August 27, 1986 in Chattanooga, the second child of Kathryn (Katie) Hawkins and Michael (Mike) Poythress. He was a member of the Iron Workers Union Local 704. Austin loved being outside, loved the Tennessee Mountains as well as the South Carolina coast. He was the family humorist, easily making everyone laugh. He deeply loved his one son, Kamren Jakson Poythress, and his two nephews, Brayden Poythress and Landen Poythress. In addition to his son and nephews, he is survived by his mother Kathryn Hawkins, his father Michael Poythress, his brother Matthew, and several aunts and cousins. He is sorely missed.
