RINGGOLD - Gene Clark, 99, a lifelong resident of Ringgold GA, passed away on Saturday May 7th 2022 encircled by loving family and friends. A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area he was a member of Ringgold First Baptist Church. Gene was a veteran of WWII, and proud to have served his country transporting heavy artillery for the US Army across Europe. This led to a career as a teamster for Mason Dixon Lines Trucking Co. Many of Gene’s days were spent happily fishing with his brothers, sisters, and good friends in Horseshoe Beach, FL. Gene is preceded in death by his wife Bettye, son Timmy, and his twin brother Jack, brothers, Robert, Herman, Jessie, William “Bill”, Raymond “Bay” and sisters Marguerite Felker and Rebecca “Betty Ann” Swanson.

He is survived by his daughter Nina (Mike) Crawford; daughter-in-law Melony Clark; grandson Daniel Clark; granddaughters Elizabeth Crawford, Emily (Eric) Crabtree, Stephanie (Shannon) Sullivan, Rebekah (John David) Cason, Bryan, Shera and Lesley Simpson; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Stephanie Sullivan and Emily Crabtree for their compassion, guidance, and phenomenal end of life care. Dr. Richard Moody and the staff of Chattanooga Family Practice. Dr. Bruce Pendley and the staff of Hospice of Chattanooga. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Clark, John David Cason, Shannon Sullivan, Jeff Yates, Brian Clark, Bruce McNew, Brian McNew, Mac Carson and Eric Crabtree. Pallbearers will be JROTC Cadets from Ringgold High School and Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School. Graveside services will be held 5:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Anderson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bruce Sloan and Rev. Danny Hamby officiating. The family will receive friends 2:00 – 4:30 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Disabled American Veterans 619 Memorial Dr. Chattanooga, TN 37415.
