Ricky Murphy

Ricky Lee Murphy, 54 of Chattanooga, TN passed away Tuesday, May 10th, 2022.

Ricky was a bright light among those who had the pleasure to know him. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and making others laugh. Ricky was born in Savannah, Georgia in 1967 but had been a long time resident of Chattanooga and the surrounding areas. Ricky was a kind and thoughtful partner to his wife Rebecca "Patches" Murphy, as well as an understanding and patient father to his daughter Holly "Hobbs" Downing.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Gary Murphy and Linda Craig.

In addition to his wife and daughter, Ricky also leaves behind two brothers, Gary "Bubba" Murphy and Lester Murphy; three bonus children: Christina "Nina" Cribbs, Ashlee "Ash" Gordon, and Jack "Bigfoot" Gordon; two nieces, Tiffany "Tiffy" West and Crystal "Jello" Thomas; four grandchildren: Mon'tavious "Tay" Green, Ezra "Ezzy" Pogue, Anakin "Ani" Pogue, and Zarianna "beautiful girl" Gordon; two great nephews and one great niece whom he thought of as grandchildren, Cameron "Cam" West, Aria Thomas, and Aiden Thomas, many extended family members at his long time employer Brown Brothers Inc., and his special baby, Niya, his most loved dog.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 21st, 2022 at 2pm in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral home.
