Patricia Ann Broome

Patricia Ann Hunley Broome, 74, of Chattanooga, was born March 30, 1945, and passed away at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, on June 1, 2017, following a short illness. She was the daughter of A.L. "Red" and Nettie Watkins Hunley. Preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Bates; and her parents. Survived by her husband, James "Jim" Broome; sons, Andy (Terri) Bates, of Chattanooga, Steven (Sabra) Broome, of Carrollton, Ga.; daughter, Carrie (Ritchie Spivey, of Covington, Ga.; sister, Debbe (Jim) Collins, of Signal Mountain; brother, Ricky (Angela) Hunley, of Chattanooga; seven grandchildren, Carrington Roberts, Alexandra Bates, Morgan Spivey, Zach Spivey, Jackson Broome, Evan Broome, and Emily Childress; nephews, Chris (Rachel) Wilson, Allen (Jennifer) Hunley and a host of other relatives. Pat was a Baptist by faith. She was a member of Sunnyside Chapter No. 359 Order of the Eastern Star, where she had held the office of Ruth for several years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother affectionately known as "Maw". She loved to cook and tend her garden making weeds into beautiful flowers. At her request, her body has been cremated and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held Thursday, June 8, 2017, at 3 p.m., at Grace Works Church, 6445 Lee Highway, Chattanooga, Tenn.
