Susan Hofbauer

Susan K. Hofbauer, 66, died Nov. 28, 2019, following a brief illness. Originally born in Akron, Ohio the remainder of her youth was spent with her family in Massachusetts. Having moved to Chattanooga in her high school years, she attended Notre Dame and subsequently Central High School. Later, she lived in Illinois and California where her son (Jeremy) was born. On her return to Chattanooga she obtained a divorce and a degree in Medical Records Management. Twenty-one years later she remarried but continued to work in the medical field until age 58 when she took disability due to her arthritis. Susan was preceded in death by her son, Jeremy Lee Ellison in 2008 secondary to a motor vehicle accident and by her husband, best friend and love of her life in 2012 secondary to mesothelioma. She was also preceded in death by her father, Robert Eberle, brother, Bobby Eberle and brother-in-law, Stephen Nehi. She is survived by mother, Ruth Eberle; one sister and three brothers to include: Mary Ann Nehi, John (Jeanette) Eberle, Michael Eberle and Pete Eberle; as well as best friends to include Randall Hegwood and Rodger Brown. As per her personal request, the final service and visitation will be brief, private and for family only. Any contributions in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
