It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of JD Watson, a loving father and hardworking provider. He passed away on March 18th, 2023, at the age of 55. JD was born in Georgia in 1967 and raised in Alabama. Despite a difficult childhood, he grew up to be a man of integrity, kindness, and a strong work ethic. He joined the army at age 17 and, upon returning home, earned an Associate Degree in Industrial Electronics. Over the course of his career, he worked as a team lead, quality assurance specialist, and senior metrologist, distinguishing himself through the quality of his work in each role. JD was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1997 and remained a loyal servant of Jehovah throughout his life. As an extension of his love for Jehovah, he cared deeply about others in the congregation, especially older ones. On April 18th, 1998, JD married Rachel, and together they had three children whom he loved unconditionally. His love for his children was unwavering, and he always put their needs before his own. It was clear to those who knew him best that his primary joy in life was being a father. While he had a somewhat stern demeanor, everyone who knew JD knew very well how genuine and kind-hearted he was. Without hesitation, he would jump to provide aid, comfort, and kindness. Despite having an odd sense of humor, he never failed to bring a smile to the faces of friends and family. JD is survived by his children, Elijah, Samuel, and Jessica, who miss him deeply. Funeral services will take place at 7341 Middle Valley Rd, Hixson, TN on March 25th at 1:00 pm. Friends and family are invited to attend to pay their respects and celebrate the life of this remarkable man.
