Sarah Frances Fuller, 103, of Chattanooga went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 24, 2023. A resident of Chattanooga since 1958, Mrs. Fuller was the oldest living member of Silverdale Baptist Church and was a member of the Joy Sunday school class. At the age of 102, Mrs. Fuller was honored as the 2022 Grand Marshall of the Inaugural Grandparents Day Parade at Silverdale Baptist Academy. She was formerly employed as a chemical analyst at TNT and retired from the activity department of the Hamilton County Nursing Home. After her retirement she enjoyed serving as a volunteer at the Silverdale Baptist Academy where she was known as “The Duchess of the Dale”. She was an avid reader and card player (especially Skip-bo). She loved to dance and actually met her husband, Cy, at a USO dance in 1941. Mrs. Fuller will be remembered as a non judgmental listener and a very progressive woman. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998, Cy Fuller; her son David Fuller in 1968; and her 10 siblings. Survivors are her children, Sandra Gardner, Chattanooga; Thomas (Sarah) Fuller, McDonald, TN; Jane (Jerry) Chastain, Ooltewah; Becky (Rick) Hansard, Harrison; and John (Rozlyn) Fuller, Murfreesboro, TN; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, March 27th at 6 PM at Silverdale Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Walliser officiating. She will be buried on Tuesday at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
