Johnny Duanne Welchance

Johnny Duanne Welchance Johnny D. Welchance, 74 of Chattanooga passed away Monday May 22, 2023. Johnny started working at age 10 with his dad at Northside Upholstery, he also founded Welchance Manufacturing, Furniture Factory Outlet, and then continued Northside Upholstery for 20 years after his dad’s passing. He had a great love of Bluegrass music. Johnny was a fellow brother of Free and Accepted Masons, the Shriners, and the Scottish Rite. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Welchance; father, Rod Welchance; mother, Virginia K. Hash; his sisters, Joy Ruth Hayes, and Elizabeth Day. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Misty Welchance-Handley (Adam); grandson, Dustin Blake Handley; and sister, Wilma Mitchell. He is survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Johnny is also survived by his love, Beverly Conway; and her children, Hallidee Hunt (Beaver), Emily Eason (Scott), Robert Conway (Jackie), Sarah Conway (Nick); her grandchildren, Hunter Conway (Morgan), Logan Conway (Kaylee), Robby Conway, Asa Conway, and Slayden Hunt; and her great-grandchildren; Crew and Isla Conway. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home North, in Hixson, at 2:00 PM on Saturday May 27, 2023 with Rev. Dale Tilley officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday and on Saturday from 12:00 PM until service time at North Chapel. The family requests that memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
