Description

Not only does the accessible menu, large in size and variety, describe dishes, but it also includes color photographs to assist beginners as well as experts who might want to branch out. And sushi ordering forms are accompanied by a cheat sheet of roll ingredients for those who can't keep their gastronomic geography - from the Californias to the Philadelphias - straight. The menu was probably even more helpful to diners when the restaurant first opened in 1998. Back then, Japanese restaurants were still in somewhat short supply in the metro area, which now boasts roughly a dozen of them. But the show-and-tell menu still has its place. Some of Igibon's offerings will be mysterious to diners who only know Japanese food as served in showy steakhouses. By contrast, there is nothing ostentatious about Igibon, where the muted decor is tasteful with Asian touches, like a waving lucky cat. At night, dim lighting gives a cozy relaxing quality to the space. Couples, groups of friends and families with young kids are warmly welcomed by the gracious staff at the come-asyou- are restaurant.
