Description

There's plenty of seating at padded wooden and cafeteria chairs in the simple space that still wears the same dark red walls and hints of exposed brick but not the artwork of its predecessor, with only a "Wall of Fame" bulletin board as decoration. And there are squeeze bottles of sauce and napkin holders on tables.
But most visitors, at least all fellow diners on a recent Saturday, were - and were presumed to be - carryout customers. All orders, placed at the counter from a menu board, were served in lidded Styrofoam containers.
Which is not to say that Mista Wings is fast food exactly. It's a small operation, so it can take a while (we waited about 15 minutes for the number on our receipt to be called) especially if others are ahead of you. Call-ahead ordering is an option.
The menu is easily navigated: Catfish or chicken? Bone-in or boneless? How many pieces? Harder choices are which sauce (regular, barbecue, honey barbecue, honey mustard, hot and spicy, lemon pepper, sweet Buffalo, teriyaki and the fiery Mista Mista Sauce) and which sides (fries, okra, onion rings, baked beans, slaw, cornbread or dinner rolls, 49 cents to $1.59) to select.
