Theatre Centre recognizes patrons

What: A dinner to thank major supporters of the Chattanooga Theatre Centre was held at the theater. Featured speakers were Dr. Sheila T. Cavanagh and Dr. Kevin Quarmby from Emory University, co-directors of the World Shakespeare Project.

Scout luncheon raises $300,000

What: Col. Mark Tillman, pilot of Air Force One on 9/11, was the featured speaker at the ninth annual Friends of Scouting luncheon. More than 600 guests attended the fundraiser at the Chattanooga Convention Center.

Benefits: Raised more than $300,000 for the Cherokee Council of Boy Scouts, which provides programs and camps for more than 6,600 youth.

Three companies recognized at Entrepreneur luncheon

What: More than 570 guests attended the first Entrepreneur Power luncheon in The Chattanoogan sponsored by the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga. Daymond John, founder of FUBU clothing line and one of the stars of ABC's "Shark Tank," was the featured speaker.

Benefits: Raised $25,000 for the Urban League's Entrepreneur Center to help local small businesses.
