Chattanooga police: Person shot to death in road rage

Norman Gallman, 39, was killed this morning at the intersection of Moore Road and North Terrace Road, after an apparent road rage incident.

Police reportedly found Gallman in his silver Honda CR-V around 9 a.m. at the intersection of Moore Road and North Terrace Road. Gallman was transported to an area hospital and died as the result of at least one gunshot wound.

Following eywitness testimonies, police tracked a suspect - reportedly driving a gold sedan - to 706 South Lovell Avenue in East Ridge. Richard Manning, 62, who lives at that address, was taken into custody and charged with criminal homicide and aggravated assault.

Manning's home is a half-mile from the shooting scene.

Jefferson said around noon today there was a female passenger in Gallman's vehicle at the time of the shooting. She was uninjured but taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

Jefferson said the investigation is ongoing.
