VIDEO: Freak spring snowstorm blasts Chattanooga for just minutes

Snow flurries are blowing through downtown Chattanooga and surrounding areas, especially higher elevations like Signal Mountain.

Weather forecasters said temperatures will be colder than normal but should return to more seasonal temperatures by the weekend.

This comes at a time that forecasters are pointing to dropping temperatures — into the 20s — in the Chattanooga area tonight.

At the same time, the National Weather Service reports that some areas of eastern Tennessee, including Johnson City and Greeneville, may be seeing some accumulation of snow with the lower temperatures.
