Walker County offers $1,000 reward for Ironman saboteur

The Walker County Sheriff is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person or people who sabotaged the Ironman bike course Sunday, Sheriff Steve Wilson announced today.

Someone put tacks and oil on part of the triathlon's 116-mile bike route Sunday, giving some riders flat tires.

The reward is being funded with private money and administered by the sheriff's office.

About 2,300 athletes competed in the Ironman triathlon Sunday, which started in Chattanooga and stretched into North Georgia.
