Final weekend of Chattanooga Market

Cindy Hawthorne of Cindy's
Imagination turns watch gears into dangle earrings and
bullets into studs. Copper gear earrings $20; bullet
studs $23.

Hand-woven seagrass baskets made by Florence Moses of Savannah, Ga., are as functional as they are decorative. They are easy to clean, fold down for easy storage and carrying, then pop back into shape when unfolded. The multicolor bread basket in front is $48. In back, from left, are a Moses basket, $125; lace basket with black handle, $85.99; oval basket with design, $65.

These "smoker cabins" are handmade by Jesse Faircloth of Appalachian Rustic Furnishings in Wildwood, Ga., from poplar bark with barnwood chimneys. The interior of the cabin, shown left foreground, is built to draw the smoke of the burning incense up the chimney for a rustic, decorative, aromatic home accent. The $30 price includes incense.

Bill Southerland of Country Creek Relics in Soddy-Daisy scavenges flea markets and The World's Longest Yard Sale in search of old pitchforks and hay forks that he transforms into bases for tin-roof birdhouses. The tines on the upcycled tools hold the birdhouses stationary in the ground as well as making decorative yard/garden art. Priced $70-$75.

A gift personalized with an initial lets the recipient know it was picked especially with her in mind. These small, hand-formed, stoneware trays by artist Erich Emmenegger of Cloudland, Ga., feature a variety of designs and glazes. Use them as jewelry dishes, to hold coins and keys, or as decorative accents. Priced $20 to $36 according to size.

Still haven’t found that one-of-a-kind gift you’re searching for?

Check out these ideas at Chattanooga Market in the Chattanooga Convention Center.

The final two market days of this year are Saturday-Sunday, Dec. 16-17.
