Chattanooga: Former deputy chief expected to take stand in age discrimination trial

Former police deputy chief Skip Vaughn is expected to testify today in the ongoing trial in which he and a former colleague accuse the city police department of age discrimination.

Last week, Mayor Ron Littlefield and Police Chief Freeman Cooper justified the “constructive” dismissals in testimony.

An economic expert also testified today that, had the 49- and 59 year-old deputy police chiefs not been made to leave the department when they did, they each would have made more than $100,000 extra in retirement benefits.
