Fractured pinky keeps Coleman from throwing

Just like top prospects Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III, former McCallie and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga quarterback B.J. Coleman won’t be throwing the ball during the NFL combine.

Unfortunately for Coleman, it’s not by choice, as it is for Luck and “RGIII.” Coleman revealed during his session with the media Friday at the combine in Indianapolis that he had suffered a fractured pinky finger on his throwing (right) hand while training.

The hand is in a cast and the injury will keep him out of Sunday’s throwing exercises at Lucas Oil Stadium.

“I was training and working drills and it was just a freak thing. My feet came out from under me and all my weight came down on my pinky,” said Coleman, according to a BuffaloBills.com report.”It just happened to get injured. You do things all your life and it’s the first time the bone breaks.”

He said the injury occurred two weeks ago and his hand will be in a cast for another week.
