A slice of city life
Before I moved outside of the city, I was fortunate enough to live in several downtown-area apartments, all within walking distance of great restaurants. My first-ever Chattanooga place, on the North Shore, was a short (albeit steep) jaunt from Good Dog. When I moved to the Southside, I was delighted to discover the scent of freshly baked Niedlov’s bread often reached my front door. And my last Chattanooga apartment was a stone’s throw from the bustling Universal Joint.
While I relished my time in the city, there’s an ever-growing list of reasons to explore new areas. In our first story below, you’ll find a few of them – in a guide to what writer Emily Crisman calls, “the best neighborhood restaurants worth leaving downtown for.”
