Get hitched or rehitched at the Strut

While M.L. King Boulevard pulsates Strut style tonight, two adjacent locations will offer additional entertainment and one even the chance to tie the knot.

* Lindsay Street Hall, corner of M.L. King and Lindsay, is inviting strutters to join its Clean Restrooms and Cold Air Tour from 5 p.m. to midnight. Cost is $5 for the potty pass.

Music starts at 5 p.m. with the Texas blues and funk stylings of Ridin’ the Pine. Owens Barbecue will sell its specialties, and Ultimate Cycle will have a bike show.

Dr. Mark Sandilands, who often performs wedding ceremonies at the Hamilton County Courthouse, will be on-site to handle vows and vow renewals during the evening. The Strut is the kickoff for a regular weekday wedding gig for Dr. Sandilands at the music hall. Call 755-9111 for more information.

* Meanwhile, Chattanooga Market will host a Plaza Party at Miller Plaza, MLK at Market and Cherry streets. From 4 to 8 p.m., strutters can enjoy ready-to-eat foods, beer and select market vendors. Performing on the Miller Plaza Stage will be Mark “Porkchop” Holder at 5 p.m. and The Breeze Kings at 6:15 p.m.
