Cleveland man charged with slaying released on bond

A Cleveland man charged with second-degree murder in a Saturday night shooting has been released after posting bond.

Racy Carter, 38, appeared in General Sessions Court Monday afternoon and his bond was reduced from $100,000 to $25,000, according to a McMinn County Sheriff’s report.

Police arrested Carter Saturday night after 21-year-old Josh Powell was found dead at another woman’s home in McMinn County. The single shot to Powell’s abdomen was reportedly after a domestic dispute between the two men.

Carter was arrested and after posting his bond late Monday night was released, reports show.
