STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) – Nine Penn State board members elected by alumni have asked to review the documents used to create the Freeh Report on the school’s handling of Jerry Sandusky complaints.

They say the board has a responsibility to review the materials to verify sources used in the report by former FBI director Louis Freeh to attack university leaders.

The alumni-elected board faction has asked Chairman Keith Masser to share the documents.

Masser said through a spokesman Saturday that the request is under review.

Trustee Albert Lord says the board has a legal and moral responsibility to review Freeh’s “inherently incomplete work product.”

The 2012 report accused top university officials of hiding complaints that Sandusky was molesting children.

Many critics are upset about the attacks on longtime football coach Joe Paterno.
