University of Tennessee at Chattanooga senior 184-pounder Bryce Carr is the wrestler of the year in the Southern Conference, and 141-pound teammate Mike Pongracz joined him on the 10-man all-conference team announced Wednesday.

Campbell 125-pounder Korbin Meink was the freshman of the year in the voting by the league’s eight coaches. Appalachian State, which edged UTC for the regular-season championship, had four each on the All-SoCon and all-freshman teams.

Carr, the reigning SoCon champion at 184, is ranked 12th nationally in his weight class and 23-5 overall this season with an 11-4 duals record and a 7-0 mark in league matches. He has seven pins, three technical falls and six major decisions.

Pongracz is 16-10 with three tech falls and five majors and went 6-0 in SoCon duals. He redshirted last year but was 22-6 and an NCAA tournament participant as a junior in 2015-16.

The 2018 SoCon tournament will be held Saturday at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C.
