Brock BenningtonTwo potential candidates picked up papers to run to be East Ridge’s first elected court clerk.
Brock Bennington, 43, and Greg Ezell, 53, are both considering running for the spot, according to the Hamilton County Election Commission.
Bennington said he may run in the special March 5 election because several people suggested he wouldd be good at the job.
“I think I’ve got the managerial skills,” he said. “I just like to serve — I’d like to do something to serve the people again.”
Bennington has a military background and served as a deputy sheriff and state trooper before he retired.
