Your Monday at a glance:

Good morning, Good Day readers!

I’ve always considered myself to either be the youngest millennial or the oldest GenZer – a Zillenial if you will.

But the older I get (and the more generational analyses I read), I’m realizing that I lean heavily towards Gen Z, digitally-minded with a pragmatic outlook on life and a relatively chill disposition. Most scholars start the generation around 1996 or 1997.

In his weekly column, my colleague Mark Kennedy delves into the world of generations in the workplace where he concludes that maybe Zoomers and Boomers are more alike than you might think.

I took the quiz he mentioned once or twice and always landed as part GenX and part GenZ, but was never categorized with millennial or baby boomer tendencies.

I’m not 100% sure what that means for me professionally, but as one of the youngest people in our newsroom, I’m quite interested to see how our mix of generations plays out once we’re all back in the office.

How does your generation shape you?

Now for some recent stories:

JUST A PHASE: Phase 1 of the infamous I-75/I-24 split has finally been completed. There’s still work to be done but we’re moving forward.

THERE’S AN AP FOR THAT: Area students can sign up to take free Advanced Placement classes online through this new program.

YOUNG & VAXXED: Chattanooga has announced a new incentive program to get students vaccinated against COVID-19 in an effort to shore up protection as schools are back in session.
