‘Believe Campaign’ support in area overwhelming
On behalf of all the children in our community, I want to thank everyone who has supported the Children’s Hospital Believe Campaign. Over the past two years, thousands of area residents have contributed $30 million toward the building of a new children’s treatment center. Their generosity represents the largest philanthropic initiative in the 125-year history of Erlanger Health System.
More than 700 people, including patients, physicians, employees, elected officials, business leaders and even UT football coach Butch Jones celebrated our groundbreaking. As I listened to the many heartfelt comments, it was clear this community embraced our vision.
I want to thank the Times Free Press for the excellent coverage of this momentous event, and for the Free Press editorial which drew a parallel between the significance of this project and the Tennessee Aquarium.
This newest addition to the Erlanger Health System will allow kids to forget why they are here and have a far-reaching impact on many lives. And it will serve as the gateway to a wellness and innovation district that will be the envy of many other cities throughout the nation.
