NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says reported crime is down 14.4 percent in Tennessee schools during the three years from 2012 through 2014.
The TBI on Monday released its annual study on the volume and type of crime on public and private K-12 school campuses in the state.
“School Crime 2012-2014” is based on data collected by the agency through the Tennessee Incident Based Reporting System. All law enforcement agencies in the state, as well as colleges and universities, are required to report crime statistics to the TBI. Data submitted by colleges and universities is contained in TBI’s separate annual “Crime on Campus” report.
