Harbor Lights Yacht Club Ship Store at 9546 Hixson Pike in Lakesite plans to begin selling beer in early July after receiving a beer license from the Lakesite Beer Board June 15.

“In the store we will be selling beer, boating supplies, bait and host a deli section,” said manager Ronnie Pittman. “We hope to open the store in the next two weeks.”

Pittman said Harbor Lights Yacht Club is a work in progress.

“We remodeled the Harbor Lights Yacht Club Ship Store inside and out,” he said. “We put log siding and a green canteen roof on the store.”

Pittman said the cabins and apartments on the property will reflect the same design trend.

Hours in the boating season will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday until 11 p.m. and other days until 10 p.m. The store will be open seven days per week, opening early at 6 or 7 a.m. most days, but opening at 10 a.m. Sundays. Coffee and biscuits for early risers will be served too.

“Michael Porter is general manager of Hale’s Bar, Lakeshore and Harbor Lights Marinas, so we are consulting with him on the project,” said Pittman. “We are working on getting the electrical turned on now.”

Harbor Lights Yacht Club Ship Store is located in the front of the Harbor Lights Yacht Club marina property. Marina slips are currently being installed to provide boat storage.
